NAVFAC Deep Foundation Analysis
Driven pile and drilled shaft axial capacity per NAVFAC DM-7. Code-traceable output with full methodology references — the way federal reviewers expect to see it.
Open a free accountWhat it does
The NAVFAC Deep Foundations tool calculates axial capacity for driven piles and drilled shafts using the methods published in NAVFAC DM-7. Enter your soil profile and pile geometry — the tool computes skin friction and end bearing by layer and reports total capacity with full methodology references.
Output is formatted as a PDF calculation package, organized the way a federal reviewer expects to see it. Every value traces back to the source equation and input parameters.
NAVFAC DM-7 is the standard for Navy and federal infrastructure projects, and is widely accepted as a reference methodology on civilian projects where a codified approach is required.
Methodology
NAVFAC DM-7.02
Capabilities
- Axial pile capacity per NAVFAC DM-7
- Driven piles (H-pile, pipe pile, concrete)
- Drilled shafts (straight and belled)
- Skin friction calculation by soil layer
- End bearing calculation
- Cohesive and cohesionless soil support
- Compression and tension (uplift) capacity
- Width and bearing-depth sweeps
- Layered soil profiles
- Formatted PDF calculation report
- Code-traceable output with section references
Scope
The current version covers single-pile axial capacity. Group effects are available in the Pile Group tool and lateral capacity in the Lateral Pile tool. Load-settlement curves and liquefaction assessment are planned for future releases.
