Retaining Wall Design
Permanent cantilever, gravity, and semi-gravity retaining walls — earth pressure, overturning, sliding, bearing, eccentricity, and global stability.
Start Free TrialWhat it does
The Retaining Wall tool designs and checks permanent cantilever, gravity, and semi-gravity walls. Enter the stem and footing geometry, backfill and foundation soils, and loading — the tool computes lateral earth pressures and evaluates every stability mode.
Checks include overturning, sliding (with optional shear key and passive resistance), bearing capacity, base eccentricity (middle-third / Meyerhof), and global slope stability through the wall. Active and at-rest pressure options handle yielding and restrained walls.
Output is a formatted PDF report with the pressure diagram, resisting and driving force/moment tables, factors of safety, and bearing-pressure distribution.
